Update

The draft Health Services (Provider Selection Regime) (Wales) Regulations 2024 laid before the Senedd on 13 August have been withdrawn.

Details can be found on the written statement.

The draft regulations will be re-laid for Senedd approval at a future date.

Subject to the Senedd's agreement of the draft regulations, it's proposed that they come into force on 24 February 2025.

In the meantime, supporting documents are available. This includes the draft statutory guidance and draft training materials. These are to assist public bodies to prepare for the introduction of the proposed Provider Selection Regime Wales.

Periodically, supporting documents will be updated. They will also be updated following the Senedd’s approval of the draft regulations.

The forthcoming Health Services (Provider Selection Regime) (Wales) Regulations will be subject to Senedd agreement.

We have published the draft guidance to assist public bodies to prepare for the proposed Provider Selection Regime Wales. The guidance is subject to the regulations becoming law in due course.

We will periodically review and update the guidance and following approval of the regulations by the Senedd.

Training

We’ve developed training with NHS Wales to support the implementation of the coming Provider Selection Regime Wales.

The training is free and available to access at Learning@Wales once you've registered.

The training is in draft format and will be reviewed following approval of the regulations by the Senedd.
