This statement sets out the escalation levels of NHS trusts, special health authorities (SHAs) and health boards in Wales.
The environment in which health boards, NHS trusts and SHAs are operating in continues to be difficult. They are experiencing financial, operational and staffing pressures. They are responding to increased urgent, emergency and planned care demand while also working to reduce long waiting times. These challenges are not unique to Wales.
I have accepted the recommendations from Welsh Government officials that there should, for now, be no change to the escalation status of organisations and therefore the escalation status of NHS bodies is as follows:
