Neurodivergence code of practice development survey

The statutory code of practice on the delivery of autism services came into effect on 1 September 2021.

We continue our work with local authorities, local health boards and stakeholders to ensure that the code supports the development and implementation of consistent and sustainable autism services for children, young people and adults.

However, feedback during the consultation for the code indicated there was a need to widen the code to include other neurodivergent conditions which are often co-occurring with autism.

You are being invited to take part in this survey to build on the current code of practice on the delivery of autism services and develop a neurodivergence code of practice. Your views will not be published, but will be used to inform our thinking when developing the neurodivergence code of practice, which will be subject to public consultation before publication.

The following questions are to help identify areas which need to be addressed and developed, to ensure that the new neurodivergence code of practice meets the needs of neurodivergent people and their families across Wales.

This is an opportunity for all stakeholders to directly impact the direction and development of the neurodivergence code and we will appreciate and consider all contributions.

To gather all the information we require has made the survey quite lengthy, with over 53 questions, many of which are tick box answers. We have also provided open text boxes where a more detailed response may be required.

If you don’t feel a question is relevant, you don’t have to answer.

We have also built in a save and return option so that you can leave the survey and return to the same question if you need a break.
