This release provides data on the Welsh language transmission rate and the Welsh language composition of households in Wales from Census 2011.
This is not the latest release in the series: Census of population
Series information:
Main results on language transmission in the home are presented for one-family households with children aged 3 to 4 (this represented 92% of 3 to 4 year olds in 2011). The transmission rate is defined as the proportion of 3 to 4 year olds within a family type able to speak Welsh.
