The National GO Awards takes place on 1 June 2023 – celebrating excellence in public procurement and the supply chain.
The awards recognise the achievement of delivering public sector services across the public, private and third sectors.
Our Commercial Delivery team and Procurement Reform team (both part of the Commercial Procurement Directorate) have been shortlisted for 4 awards at this year’s ceremony.
Following our success at GO Awards Wales in the Collaborative Procurement Initiative category for the work in collaboration with the Welsh Local Government Association on the musical instruments dynamic purchasing system, we have been automatically entered into the National GO Awards. This project has also been shortlisted for the Procurement Delivery award.
Our Procurement Reform team have been shortlisted for the Collaborative Procurement Initiative award for their work with the Cabinet Office on the Procurement Bill.
Last but not least, we have also been shortlisted for the Social Value award for the work carried out by our Commercial Delivery team on our supply teachers framework, which improved standards in the supply teachers agency market.
John Coyne, Director Commercial and Procurement said:
“I am absolutely thrilled about this news – for a whole host of reasons. One of our key aims is that we try to be creative and challenge colleagues to think creatively on how we approach procurement. Being recognised at these national awards clearly demonstrates that we are achieving that goal. Being shortlisted also celebrates all the hard work that the teams across the Directorate have put in. These shortlisted entries once again allow us to focus on how we can deliver social value, promote sustainability, and make a difference to the future generations of Wales.”
Good luck to all the finalists who have been shortlisted. Visit the GO Awards website for all the latest information.
