We are seeking views on the definition of a higher-risk building.
Consultation description
The Building Safety Act 2022 created a stricter building safety regime.
We are consulting on the draft definition of a higher-risk building for the design and construction elements of the new regime.
Among the proposals are:
- a higher-risk building is defined as a building at least 18 metres in height or has at least seven storeys
- contains at least one residential unit or is a hospital or care home
