Ebbw Vale-based social enterprise clothing manufacturer ELITE Clothing Solutions (ECS) is available to supply high visibility, PPE, uniforms, workwear and leisurewear.
ELITE were appointed onto the Welsh Government Commercial Delivery (formerly NPS) PPE and workwear Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS), which was tendered on a reserved basis, allowing only eligible social enterprises to apply.
The DPS gives customers a direct route to a Welsh social enterprise able to meet a variety of clothing needs.
Currently, 30% of ELITE employees are classed as either disabled or disadvantaged workers. Since opening, the factory has employed 10 local individuals and taken on 7 trainees with varying needs. Many of the permanent employees helping to train new starters have a lifetime of sector experience, having previously worked in local clothing factories which closed following the decline of manufacturing in South Wales.
As well as offering on-the-job training, ELITE offers employment advice to those in the community through dedicated employment advisors, who get to know each individual and provide tailored support to get them work-ready; from interview tips to helping them use public transport for the first time.

The DPS helps to contribute to policy goals of creating a prosperous and equal Wales while being sustainable and socially responsible and puts money back into the local economy.
