Dear
ATISN 16056
Thank you for your request which I received on 7 February 2022. You asked for the following information, in relation to Ty Siamas, National Centre for Welsh Folk Music:
- All grants/payments made to the centre by or through the Welsh Government.
- Details of what the payments were for.
- A copy of the terms of awards of grants/payments from the Welsh Government or through the Welsh Government.
Phase 1 of Ty Siamas was funded under the 2000-2006 EU Objective 1 Programme. The total project cost was £1,380,951, with a grant of £545,998. The final amount of grant actually paid was £435,589. The aim of the project was to establish and maintain a centre to promote and present Welsh traditional music to local inhabitants, to visitors to the area, to Wales and to the wider world. This information is also available in the approved projects 2000-2006 spreadsheet published on the Welsh Government website.
While the period for retaining project papers under the Objective 1 Programme has passed (the Welsh Government is only required to keep information for three years after the final payment to or from the European Commission) I have undertaken a search of our archived files and have found the attached document which outlines the general terms and conditions of the Objective 1 grant. Please note this is a copy of a previously scanned document therefore apologies for the quality of the document.
If you are dissatisfied with the Welsh Government’s handling of your request, you can ask for an internal review within 40 working days of the date of this response. Requests for an internal review should be addressed to the Welsh Government’s Freedom of Information Officer at:
