4. What happens next
Emergency Assistance Payment (EAP)
It takes 24 hours to process applications (made Monday to Friday).
If you apply after 12 pm on a Friday, we will not contact you until the following Monday.
We will send you a letter by email or post notifying you of the outcome of your application (if it has been approved or declined).
If your application is approved
You will get:
- a PayPoint voucher or BACS payment for food, gas, electricity and emergency travel
- vouchers to help you buy clothes
If your application is declined
The letter you receive will explain the reasons your application has been declined, the letter will set out what you need to do and by when if you do not agree with the decision, you can ask for it to be reviewed.
Individual Assistance Payment (IAP)
It takes 10 working days to process applications.
We will send you a letter by email or post notifying you of the outcome of your application (if it has been approved or declined).
If your application is approved
You will get:
- other ‘white goods’ such as fridge or washing machine from AO Retail Limited
- home furniture such as beds, sofas and chairs from The Furnishings Service (TFS)
Contact
Contact details for your supplier will be in your letter.
You will get a phone call, text or email from the supplier to arrange delivery. Please allow 24 hours after your application has been approved before contacting them.
If your application is declined
The letter you receive will explain the reasons your application has been declined. If you do not agree with the decision, you can ask for it to be reviewed.
