What we offer
Pay
Our salaries reflect the increasing skills and knowledge you’ll develop with us, allowing you to reach the top of your pay band within 3 to 4 years.

Terms
We’re a non-ministerial government department staffed by civil servants. The Civil Service Code sets out the standards of behaviour expected of civil servants.
We’re committed to ensuring personal taxpayer information is handled appropriately. All WRA staff are required to sign a declaration of confidentiality.
Successful candidates must pass basic security checks.
Some roles need higher levels of security clearance; we’ll state this in our job descriptions.
Nationality requirements
Our roles are open to:
- UK nationals
- nationals of Commonwealth countries
- nationals of the Republic of Ireland
- European Economic Area (EEA) nationals with (or eligible for) status under the EUSS
- relevant EEA or Turkish nationals working in the Civil Service
- relevant EEA or Turkish nationals who have built up the right to work in the Civil Service
- certain family members of the relevant EU & Turkish nationals
Candidates will be subject to UK immigration requirements. As well as Civil Service nationality rules which will give you further information on whether you’re able to apply.
If you're applying for a role requiring security clearance, please be aware that foreign or dual nationality is not an automatic bar.
A small number of posts may have restrictions which could affect those who either:
- do not have sole British nationality
- have personal connections with certain countries outside the UK
