Deep Sagar was introduced as the newly appointed Chair of the Regulatory Board for Wales.
WG Update - Covid /WG Housing & Regeneration
Emma Williams gave a general update on how resources were being flexed and prioritised due to the impacts of the pandemic, Brexit and other pressures. Emma also updated the Board on the Minister’s written statement on the The Renting Homes (Fees etc.) (Wales) Act 2019.
Regulation Reset/Restart - Interim Judgements/Framework Review
The Board was updated on the latest Registered Social Landlord (RSL) business continuity survey summary report and advised that the first 4 interim judgements had been published. The Board were also apprised of progress with the new regulatory assessment model which will be piloted early in 2021 as well as the process for the upcoming framework review.
RBW Report to Minister and Ministerial Response
The RBW report has been published and the Board discussed the response from the Minister for Housing & Local Government which was felt to be positive and supportive.
Additional Business
Doug Elliott, who has been a Board member for 5 years gave notice he was resigning due to other commitments. Doug was thanked for his significant contribution and support to the work of the Regulator and the RBW.
