The roads review considered this project
This page reflects our previous road investment programme. A new programme was published in the national transport delivery plan.
We will publish new scheme webpages to reflect the new programme.

Cost: £17.4 million
Technical advisors and designers: WSP

What we are doing
We want to introduce two new climbing lines on the A487 between Aberarth and Llanon. This will provide overtaking opportunities in both the north and southbound directions.
Why we are doing it
We have identified a need to undertake safety improvements at existing junctions along the trunk road network.
Current progress
The scheme is reaching the end of the preliminary design stage. A WelTAG stage 3 report is being produced.
