Catherine Grace Cox

Catherine Grace Cox set her heart on becoming a hairdresser as a youngster, often helping at her aunt’s salon. Her severe dyslexia however made academic success challenging and her first steps into the Traineeship Engagement Hair Vocational Programme were stalled by her inability to master literacy and numeracy skills.

Then, in June 2015 she became pregnant and her hairdressing dream went on hold. However, great tenacity and drive saw 19-year-old Catherine, who lives in Bangor, return to the Engagement Programme through training provider Grwp Llandrillo Menai and she soon moved onto Level 1 NVQ in Hairdressing.
