This is not the latest release in the series: Graduate outcomes
The Graduate Outcomes record includes a survey of graduates approximately 15 months after they complete their studies. This survey is delivered by the Higher Education Statistics Authority (HESA). The 2017/18 Graduate Outcomes Survey Results record is in respect of students who completed eligible programmes of study between 1 August 2017 and 31 July 2018 and who actually completed the survey (or the minimum response required).
There were 361,215 graduates who responded to the Graduate Outcomes 2017/18 survey from the target population of 769,735. This equals a rate of 47% complete responses. When including partially completed responses, the response rate rises to 50% (388,570 graduate responses).
Graduates with an undergraduate degree from Welsh Universities
6,515 (52%) of known graduates who had studied full-time are in full-time employment and 1,250 (10%) are in part-time employment. 1,635 (13%) of known graduates are in are in full-time further study and 85 (1%) are in part-time further study.
885 (59%) of known graduates who had studied part-time are in full-time employment and 185 (12%) are in part-time employment. 50 (3%) known graduates are in full or part-time further study.
Overall, Welsh universities had a similar percentage of known graduates in full-time employment (53%) and part-time employment (10%) than the rest of the UK (56% and 11% respectively).
755 (5%) graduates are unemployed, of which 185 are due to start work or further study.
820 (52%) known graduates from low participation neighbourhoods (POLAR4 quintile 1) were in full-time employment compared to 5,110 (55%) known graduates from other participation neighbourhoods.
Welsh Universities had a lower percentage of graduates (around 29%) with salaries of £27,000 and over than the rest of the UK (around 34%).
Graduates from medicine and dentistry subjects reported the highest median salaries at £32,000.
Graduates with a postgraduate degree from Welsh Universities
2,045 (62%) known graduates who had studied full-time are in full-time employment and 265 (8%) are in part-time employment. 240 (7%) known graduates are in are in full-time further study and 15 (less than 1%) are in part-time further study.
1,140 (64%) known graduates who had studied part-time are in full-time employment and 235 (13%) are in part-time employment. 35 (2%) known graduates are in full or part-time further study.
Overall, Welsh universities had a similar percentage of known graduates in full-time employment (63%) and part-time employment (10%) to the UK (66% and 9% respectively).
170 (4%) graduates are unemployed, of which 35 (1%) are due to start work or further study.
Welsh Universities had a similar percentage of graduates (20%) with salaries of £39,000 and over to the rest of the UK (21%).
