General principle

We should use existing channels for campaign and other promotional activity.

For example:

  • GOV.WALES
  • social media platforms
  • partner organisation's website

What is a campaign?

A campaign is a planned sequence of communications and interactions to deliver a defined and measurable outcome over a set time.

Available solutions

Short URL promoting a GOV.WALES page

Short URLs are redirects that help promote existing content. Example: gov.wales/seren

GOV.WALES campaign

GOV.WALES campaigns provide persuasive information to help raise awareness about something.

There may be multiple campaigns around different aspects of a subject.

They are not for providing core guidance on a subject.

Campaigns have a narrow proposition, are typically small (often 1 page), and provide links to surrounding information.

See an example of a GOV.WALES campaign.

Social media and partner organisation sites

Contact the Corporate Digital Team (CDT) for advice on using social media.

Campaign assets

You should store campaign materials for stakeholders on GOV.WALES.

Example: resources and materials for ‘This is control’ campaign
