Main points
In total, 5,305 students in FE applied for a WGLG in 2019/20, a decrease of 5.5% on 2018/19. Of these 4,435 applications were successful, a decrease of 7.3% on 2018/19. This resulted in £4.9 million being paid out in WGLGs to FE students in 2019/20, compared to the £5.1 million that was paid out in 2018/19. 4,085 (92.2%) of successful applications were from full-time students and 325 (7.3%) of successful applications were from part-time students.
