Dafydd Elis Thomas, Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism, has announced four new appointments to the National Library of Wales.
The newly appointed members (from 1 September 2019 to 31 August 2023) are:
- Meri Huws as Vice-President; and
- Michael Cavanagh, Quentin Howard and Carl Williams as Trustees
The above posts are unremunerated with a time commitment of 18 and 12 days respectively.
These appointments have been made in accordance with the Governance Code on Public Appointments.
Dafydd Elis Thomas said:
“I am delighted to announce the appointment of Meri Huws to the role of Vice President of the National Library of Wales, along with three new trustees. Along with a deep knowledge and understanding of Welsh culture, Meri will bring a wealth of experience to the role. I am also very pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Cavanagh, Quentin Howard and Carl Williams as Trustees. Drawn from very different backgrounds these individuals will bring new and different perspectives to the Board as work begins on a new strategic plan for the organisation. I am grateful for their willingness to engage with and support the National Library though this process.
