Original consultation
The proposed School Governors' Annual Reports (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 make a number of changes to school governors' annual reports.
Consultation description
As a result of section 94 of the School Standards and Organisation (Wales) Act 2013 coming into force on 4 May 2013 a school governing body will no longer be required to hold an annual parents' meeting. Instead parents will have the right to petition a meeting with a governing body on issues which concern them. This right may be exercised up to 3 times in a school year.
The proposed School Governors’ Annual Reports (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 (“the 2013 Regulations”) make a number of changes to the information which must be contained in school governors’ annual reports and the requirements for providing parents with copies. These changes are necessary to reflect the new legislative arrangements which enable parents to petition a meeting and the removal of the requirement for governing bodies to hold annual meetings with parents.
