The NHS Blood and Transplant Directions 2010 (Amendment) (No 3) have been amended to allow NHS Blood and Transplant to implement the Department of Health Arms Length Body Review published in July, which concluded that the Bio Products Laboratory, part of NHS Blood and Transplant would 'benefit from greater commercial freedom and closer integration with its plasma supply chain' and should transfer into a DH owned company.
