Thomas (Tom) Evans – Ceredigion Youth Service

Tom is an 18-year-old student who has been volunteering with Ceredigion Youth Service for three years, dedicating over 10 hours a week to evening youth work services primarily at Aberaeron Youth Club.
Tom has developed a range of exciting activities for young people in the area and provides mentoring support and advocacy work at a senior level within the local political arena. He has also developed a number of community projects including raising awareness of issues in the area such as the ‘Aberaeron Against Plastic’ and the Min y Môr initiative which promotes intergenerational work.
Tom is passionate about raising awareness of mental health issues. He has delivered awareness workshops at secondary schools and youth clubs across the county encouraging his peers to talk about their own mental health and emotional wellbeing.
The judges commended Tom for his hard work and commitment, an inspiring and outstanding role model for young people.
