The Minister for Finance and Trefnydd, Rebecca Evans will today encourage digital leaders and experts from across the Welsh public sector to get involved and help transform Wales into a leading digital nation.
Speaking at the annual Society of Information Technology Managers (SOCITM) Share Cymru conference the Minister will highlight the innovative work the Welsh Government is doing to transform digital public services.
The minister will say:
“Digital and technological transformation provides us with new and exciting opportunities to deliver our public services and shape communities in Wales - but we need to work together.
“There are many exciting projects going on across local government in Wales exploring how closer working across the public sector can lead to savings and better services, but there’s still a way to go to make these services more agile and accessible.
“We need to drive forward these changes using digital as a barometer, pushing the digital barriers and boundaries, whilst ensuring that each and every Welsh citizen is at the heart of these changes – even those who think digital is not for them.
“Today provides us with a good opportunity to share knowledge and work together to transform digital public services in Wales for the better.”
This year the Welsh Government has supported SOCITM’s 2019 Top Talent team. During the day participants at the event will hear from the group about the work they have been doing to develop a toolbox which embeds digital at the heart of democracy.
