Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Children, Carl Sargeant, will today visit the Royal Welsh Show in Llanelwedd.

He will also attend a reception to mark progress of the creation of the Welsh First World War commemorative woodland at Ffoslas in Carmarthenshire.
So far around 12,000 trees have been planted with 14 local primary schools who have been learning about the war and leaving their lasting legacy by planting trees. The Welsh Guards have recently planted 2000 trees to mark the commencement of the battle of the Somme.
Carl Sargeant said:
“I am pleased to be able to attend the reception to mark the mark progress of the creation of the Welsh First World War commemorative woodland at Ffoslas. It is an important project which will engage the local community and provide an opportunity for the younger generation to appreciate the sacrifices made by our Service men and women in defending our freedom.
“I am also pleased to be able to use my visit to the Royal Welsh Show as an opportunity to meet with and talk to a number of organisations who support young people and communities across Wales.
“The Well-being of Future Generations Act is clear; the success of any society is dependent on all the parts working together. I look forward to meeting organisations who play such an important role in their communities.”
