The Finance Ministers of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland will today meet to discuss the implications of the EU referendum.
Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Local Government Mark Drakeford AM will welcome his counterparts – Northern Ireland Minister of Finance Máirtín Ó Muilleoir MLA and Scottish Government Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Constitution, Derek Mackay MSP – to Cardiff for the crucial talks.
The three Finance Ministers will discuss the impact of last month’s referendum vote and the potential impact on public finances.Speaking ahead of the meeting, Professor Drakeford said:
“I look forward to welcoming Máirtín and Derek to Cardiff for these important talks. The referendum result has clear implications for each of our countries and our public finances, including the Welsh budget. “With so much uncertainty following the referendum, it is more important than ever that we come together to explore how we can work collectively to raise our concerns with the UK Government and get assurances for our devolved administrations.”
