Health Secretary Vaughan Gething has praised excellent performance results for Welsh GP practices this year.
The results show that the average score across the 449 GP practices was 96.6% against the Quality Outcomes Framework score, which is an element of the General Medical Services Contract.
Vaughan Gething said:
“Welsh GP practices have demonstrated consistently high performance I want to congratulate them on their hard work and thank them for their dedication and high quality patient care.
“We know that GPs in Wales are working extremely hard and face challenges at present; this is why we continue to invest new money in primary care - £42m this year alone.
“We are working with health boards and GPs to modernise the way in which services are delivered, to free GPs up to look after patients with the most complex needs.
“These recent performance results demonstrate that GPs are working hard to provide their patients with high quality care and performing well against demanding targets.”
