Work is underway on a development which will become a hub for visitors to the Gower from Easter 2017.
This was published under the 2016 to 2021 administration of the Welsh Government
A new two storey extension to the side of the coffee shop will house a 55 cover Bistro restaurant on the top floor which will have a nautical theme with views across the Bristol Channel and will be open in the evenings specialising in local produce. There will also be an extension to the coffee shop with more relaxed seating areas, soft chairs and sofas.
There are also plans to improve the visitor experience by providing an outside seating area that can be used as an outdoor classroom creating a meeting and information point with a Panel exhibiting maps, information, and pointers.
Local builder Edger Davies & Sons and J.Jenkins Project Management have started the work, with phase one due to compete by Easter 2017 and full completion by June 2017.
Three Cliffs Coffee Shop and Pennard Stores is run by Jodi and Jamie Francis who started the business with little more than a kettle and passion for the local area in 1996.

Economy Secretary, Ken Skates, said:
“I’m delighted that we’ve been able to support the expansion of the business which will provide a high quality facility with strong sense of place for visitors to the area. Combing the existing business with information points and public conveniences is a great way of sharing information about the area which will mean that the Three Cliffs will be a busy hub and a must visit for any visitors to the area.”
The Three Cliffs remains open throughout the redevelopment work and is hosting special Christmas events which include the annual Carol Service with The Salvation Army and the Mari Lwyd Lantern Parade while hosting many community coffee & cake Christmas get togethers.
