Data on fires, location, cause, motive, casualties and false alarms and Special Service Incidents attended for April to September 2018.

Series information:
Fires
- The Welsh Fire and Rescue Services attended 8,271 fires in this period, an increase of 25%.
- There were 2,476 primary fires in Wales, an increase of 11%.
- There were 5,709 secondary fires in Wales, an increase of 33%. Since a large proportion of secondary fires occur outside, they are likely to be influenced by weather conditions.
- There were 3,330 grassland, woodland and crop fires in this period, an increase of 89%. More than half of these fires occurred in July 2019.
Casualties
- There were 11 fire deaths in Wales, 5 more than reported in the same period in the previous year.
- There were 97 injuries in this period, a decrease of 7%. A further 93 received first aid, were sent to a hospital for precautionary tests or were advised to seek medical advice. This equates to a decrease of 40%.
False alarms
- There were 7,835 fire false alarms in Wales, 5% more than reported in the same period the previous year.
- There were 189 malicious fire false alarms, 13% fewer than in the same period in the previous year.
