The index ranks small areas in Wales according to their relative levels of multiple deprivation. A range of indicators underlie the index ranks.

This page relates to the most recent full index update in 2014. The indicator update, 2017 page relates to subsets of WIMD indicators that have been updated, but do not rank areas on overall multiple deprivation.

The WIMD 2014 interactive tool is no longer available. The tool was based on technology that is no longer supported. For users who would like to access WIMD 2014 spatial data, please visit: Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation (WIMD) 2014 | DataMapWales (gov.wales)
