Main points
- 86.5% of patients (6,537 out of 7,554) newly diagnosed with cancer via the Urgent Suspected Cancer route started definitive treatment within the target time of 62 days.
- 97.2% of patients (9,375 out of 9,647) who were newly diagnosed with cancer not via the Urgent route started definitive treatment within the target time of 31 days.
- Urgent suspected cancer referrals have increased by 150.3% between 2007-08 and 2016-17 whilst the number starting treatment under the urgent suspected cancer pathway increased by 70.7% over the same period.
