Data on part and full-time staff, qualifications and Welsh speakers as at 31 March 2018.

Main points

  • 20,680 staff were directly employed by social services departments, comprising 11,323 (55%) part-time staff and 9,357 (45%) full-time staff.
  • There were 15,707 whole-time equivalent directly employed staff.
  • 12,727 (77%) of relevant staff held a required or recommended occupational qualification.
  • 3,526 (17%) of staff were Welsh speaking.
