From the 749 report assessed for eligibility,15 interventions met the 2 criteria of:

- involving level 1 evidence (at least one randomised controlled trial)

- Infant Health and Development Programme
- Early Talk Boost
- Nuffield Early Language Intervention
- Story Friends
- Doors to Discovery
- Let’s Begin with the Letter People
- Read, Play, Learn
The review also identified 6 recommendations for interventions aimed at developing SLC skills.
