Education Secretary Kirsty Williams has announced £0.5 million to fund investment at Cantonian High (Wednesday 28th Dec).
The funding announced today will enable Cardiff Council to make site improvements to support new modular accommodation and provide for consequential improvements to the school site.
The investment is part of the Welsh Government’s £1.4bn 21st Century Schools and Education Programme, which aims to update school buildings across Wales.
Around £164million of investment has been earmarked for Cardiff Council through the 21st Century schools programme, half of which will come from the Welsh Government.
Kirsty Williams said:
“I am delighted to announce this investment, which should allow the school to prepare better for the long term as pupils move into more suitable facilities. We will continue to raise school standards and invest in our school buildings to provide the best environment possible for our learners.”
Cardiff Council will receive £0.5m toward their project costs of £1 million (50%) for the provision of temporary accommodation block.
