There are a range of ways to get faster broadband. Follow the steps below to find out what options are available to you.
The vast majority of premises in Wales can already access a fibre broadband service. This is largely as a result of our Superfast Cymru project as well as private sector roll-out of the technology.
Ofcom gather and publish data on broadband availability for the whole of the UK. Before moving to step two, check which services you can already get. You can also check directly with broadband providers or through price comparison websites.
We want to extend the reach of superfast broadband even further. To do this we need a range of solutions. One of these solutions is to build more fibre broadband to homes and businesses. Openreach is delivering this work using a mixture of public and private funding. This will cover some but not all of the remaining premises without access to fast, reliable broadband.
To find out more about Openreach’s plans for this project, search for and select your postcode and address below.
There are a range of other options and support available to help you get the speeds you need.
- If you haven’t already done so, check which services you can already get.
- Our Access Broadband Cymru scheme supports solutions to connectivity and provides grants to fund the installation costs of new broadband connections.
- If you are part of a community, with at least one business, support may be available to connect to gigabit-capable broadband.
Why go superfast?

Whether you're surfing the web, chatting to family on the other side of the world or discovering new places to visit, with a high speed internet connection it's so much better.
