Different statistical models of learner performance at the end of the foundation phase and Key Stages 2 to 4 in Wales were considered for this analysis. The models produced broadly consistent results for the impact of eligibility for free school meals, sex and speaking Welsh at home. Results for the impact of being taught through the medium of Welsh were not consistent across the different models.
