This a Development of National Significance (DNS) application. A DNS is a type of planning application which is made directly to the Welsh Ministers. Planning and Environment Decisions Wales process the application.

This application is for a solar farm.

Developer: Brynwell Farm Solar Ltd.

About this application: 

Installation of a solar farm comprising:

  • ground mounted solar PV panels with a net installed generating capacity (AC) of up to 25 MW,
  • mounting system, 
  • battery storage units, 
  • inverters, 
  • underground cabling, 
  • grid connection hub, 
  • stock proof fence, 
  • CCTV, 
  • internal tracks and associated infrastructure, and
  • landscaping and environmental enhancements

For a temporary period of 40 years.

Application Location: Land at Brynwell Farm, on Land between the A4232 and Leckwith Village

Stage: Examination. The determination period is currently suspended and is due to resume on 04/11/2021.

This DNS application is currently in suspension, and the examination will resume on the January 10th 2022.  Any representations on the additional material  should be made to PEDW.Infrastructure@gov.wales before 22nd December 2021. 

Next stage: Site visit. Date not yet known.
