The Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs has agreed to appoint Trefor Owen as an Independent Member to the Agricultural Advisory Panel for Wales.

Climate Change and Fuel Poverty Finance 2024 to 2025

The Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs, Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Constitution and Cabinet Office, Cabinet Secretary for Housing, Local Government and Planning, and Cabinet Secretary for Culture and Social Justice have agreed the spending proposals for £12.076million revenue and £67million capital as part of the approach to tackling the climate emergency and fuel poverty, in line with the agreed budget settlement.

Medium and High-Rise Residential Buildings Remediation Capital Grant

The Cabinet Secretary for Housing, Local Government and Planning has agreed to provide up to £52.66million of capital grant funding to six Registered Social Landlords, and two Local Authority applicants over 2024 to 2027 financial years and to continue the Social Sector Medium and High-Rise Residential Buildings Remediation Capital Grant programme for social landlords to ensure all social sector buildings are made as fire safe as possible. The Cabinet Secretary also agreed to provide an additional amount of £88,226 of capital grant funding in 2024 to 2025 to Wales and West Housing Association to allow for increased costs on the fire safety works.
