National Procurement Service framework updates.
Furniture solutions framework (NPS-CFM-0092-18)
Fully embracing the goals of the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act, our new furniture solutions framework focusses on supporting Welsh social enterprises, the circular economy and delivering greater value for money.
As a core offering, customers can purchase remanufactured and reused items of furniture in addition to new product.
There are 2 Welsh supported businesses, where at least 30% of the workforce are classed as disabled, supplying via the framework which encourages diversity in the workplace and supports the local economy.
We are working with Welsh Government funded WRAP Cymru to provide a buyers’ guide to help support customers in purchasing sustainable furniture solutions.

Cleaning and janitorial materials and washroom services (NPS-CFM-099-19)
Recycling and waste reduction are key features of the cleaning framework. We require our suppliers to focus on reducing packaging and to ensuring that any packaging they do use is sustainable, renewable and recyclable.
As part of their tender submission, suppliers were asked to confirm what community benefits they would offer through the life of the framework. These included recycling initiatives to support the circular economy and job creation, and/or training opportunities. Through regular contract management we are liaising closely with all suppliers to monitor their progress against delivering these benefits and will continue to do so for the framework duration.
As part of the process to establish this agreement, some of the wider key policy initiatives have been considered leading to us supporting the Welsh Government’s Tackling Period Poverty initiative, allowing for customers to also purchase sanitary items via the framework.
