The course will be delivered by CIPS and using Wales-based tutors through a virtual on-line platform, using Zoom for face-to-face lectures.

The Corporate Award study route is assignment-based, consisting of five modules with an assignment required at the end of each module in the place of an exam. The course content is tailored for the Welsh public sector to ensure it is relevant and reflects Welsh procurement policies and wider Welsh Government strategies and drivers. This programme is only available to new entrants. Therefore, if you are currently part way through studying the CIPS programme with a Welsh university, you will be unable to apply. This is to preserve the existing intake of students at our Welsh HE institutions.

The CIPS corporate award forms part of the Welsh Government’s capacity and capability programme. The programme aims to provide staff with professional development opportunities, creates professionals of the future, addresses the capacity issues faced across the profession and raises the profile of procurement in Wales.

How to apply

Before submitting your application, please ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria and conditions. To apply, please complete the expression of interest (EOI) form and Learner Agreement below by email to: CommercialCapability@gov.wales by 5pm on 30 September 2021.

A small team of commercial procurement staff will review all the applications we receive and agree final student places to ensure that there is a good sector and geographical spread across the Welsh procurement landscape. If we receive a higher number of EOIs from one sector, we may ask for the number of applications to be reduced from individual organisations if we are over the maximum number of available places.

Conditions for application

The conditions of application can be found in the Learner Agreement attached. Please ensure you read these carefully as you will be required to sign and return the Learner Agreement upon application as confirmation of your acceptance to the terms.
