English: contractual periodic tenancy

Welsh: tenantiaeth gyfnodol gytundebol

Part of speech

Noun, Feminine, Singular

Definition

If the tenancy is a contractual periodic tenancy, the rent can be increased if both the tenant and the landlord agree. If both parties can’t come to an agreement the landlord can use a formal procedure in the Housing Act 1988 to propose an increase to be payable a year after the original tenancy began. Further increases can be introduced annually.
