Definition

It is important that mutual respect is shown between employees, patients and their relatives/carers. However, Trusts and Local Health Boards will, after giving consideration to all other options, seek to exclude patients and relatives from their premises where acts of violence and aggression towards staff becomes unacceptable. This action would not be undertaken lightly. Under such circumstances a decision may be made to serve a Patient Undertaking.
