OGL licence
All the resources on BydTermCymru, including the translation memories, are published under version 3.0 of the OGL licence.
The Controller of Her Majesty's Stationery Office (HMSO) has developed the OGL (Open Government Licence) as a tool to enable Information Providers in the public sector to license the use and re-use of their Information under a common open licence.
"Information" in this context includes the text in the TMX files published on BydTermCymru, as well as the text found in other resources which can be downloaded from this website.
Here is an excerpt from the standard wording of the licence:
You are free to:
- copy, publish, distribute and transmit the Information;
- adapt the Information;
- exploit the Information commercially and non-commercially for example, by combining it with other Information, or by including it in your own product or application.
You must (where you do any of the above):
- acknowledge the source of the Information in your product or application by including or linking to any attribution statement specified by the Information Provider(s) and, where possible, provide a link to this licence.
The Welsh Government Translation Service is aware that it may be impractical to acknowledge the source of any information which is re-used from its translation memories.
You can find out more about the licence by visiting the National Archives website.
