Betsi Cadwaladr was a Crimean War Nurse and each year the Chief Nursing Officer for Wales awards the scholarship in her name. 

The Betsi Cadwaladr Foundation Scholarship award is open to 

  • registered nurses
  • registered midwives 
  • registered specialist community public health nurses 

working in practice, education or health care management in Wales.

The award recognises the achievement of nurses, specialist community public health nurses and midwives who have excelled in their field of practice.

The following cash prizes are available for winners:

Overall prize : £1,500

Runners up (x2) : £250
