Agenda item 6: approval of SPC procedures

SPC Secretariat to submit revised procedures for agreement by members by 14 October.

Agenda item 5: approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion issues

SPC Secretariat to engage with members in establishing a chair and membership for a standing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion sub-group that could be operationalised as required.

Ongoing: the Secretariat will be writing to members to request expressions of interest for being the Chair and/or a member of the sub-group shortly.

Agenda item 4: Cycle of Social Partnership Council Meetings

SPC Secretariat to arrange a further meeting of the Council in 2024.

Agenda item 3: Improving Fair Work through Welsh Government Financial Support

SPC Secretariat to establish a task and finish group to consider the Economic Contract in consultation with members.

Ongoing: Co-Chairs of the group have been agreed and an update to be provided at 5th December meeting.

Agenda item 2: Delivery, productivity, and accountability priorities budget 

SPC Secretariat to develop a proposal for an SPC sub-group to explore the language around productivity and efficiency.

Agenda item 3: confidential: members only: consultation on Welsh Ministers legislative priorities

SPC Secretariat to make members aware when Stage 1 consultation on the Bus Bill is launched.

Agenda item 2: the SPC procedures

Secretariat to review and recirculate the SPC procedures document for agreement having taken into account the points raised by (DW and GL in paragraphs 7, and 12 respectively) ahead of the next meeting of the Council.

Agenda item 4: Proposed approach to the provision of information and advice by the SPC to the Welsh Ministers

DMSP agreed to share all 56 social partnership reports from public bodies (when available) with the summary report for 2024 to 2025 should SPC members wish to see them.

Agenda item 6: The socially responsible public procurement provisions of the Social Partnership and Public Procurement (Wales) Act 2023  

SPC to consider the establishment of a subgroup to look specifically at the procurement of AI software and its impact on the workforce

Completed: A paper on this issue, and the report from the WPC subgroup has been tabled for 5 December meeting.

Agenda item 6: the socially responsible public procurement provisions of the Social Partnership and Public Procurement (Wales) Act 2023  

SH to consider how best to ensure that the SPC is kept up to date via technical briefings on procurement matters as well as the development of the Procurement Subgroup.
