The A5 Bethesda - Bangor Road (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2022

The proposed Order will introduce a 40mph speed limit along the length of the A5 trunk road between Dolgoch and Pont Y Pandy should be subject to a 40mph restriction. This section of the A5 has previously been subject to a temporary 40mph order, this proposal is to make a permanent 40mph speed limit.

The proposed Order is required in the interest of road safety. In addition, it is considered that the Order will have significant air quality, noise and quality of life benefits for residents and visitors to Bethesda and surrounding areas. Vehicle speeds will be reduced, which will have a positive impact on the reduction of collisions and also help to improve safety for vulnerable road users
