This research was undertaken in 2007 by Nathaniel Lichfield and Partners on behalf of the Welsh Assembly Government to establish the baseline position of planning assessments or audits of open space, prior to the revision of TAN 16.
The researchers were asked to clarify current methods of monitoring open space across Wales and elsewhere to audit open space provision.  The research was also intended to consider ways in which data could be used to investigate whether a net loss or gain of open space is occurring, as a basis for future policy making. This research is available in English only.
