This study provides evidence to help us improve the decision-making process for onshore renewable and low-carbon energy developments.

We need to take action to reduce carbon emissions. This will help us reduce our long term costs and make us more resilient and less vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.

To help us do this, we want to improve the consenting process for onshore renewable and low carbon energy developments above 5MW (megawatt).

We commissioned Hyder Consulting to evaluate the performance of the consenting bodies in the decision-making process for planning applications for these developments since 2005.
