Outline planning permission for residential development (up to 230 dwellings) and up to 465 square metres of retail/leisure floor space has been refused.

This application included:

  • residential development (up to 230 homes)

  • creation of new and alteration of existing vehicle and pedestrian accesses

This planning application was subject to a public inquiry. The Inspector appointed to hold the inquiry prepared a report for the former Minister for Environment and Sustainable Development.

The Minister disagreed with the Inspector’s recommendation that planning permission should be granted for residential development and up to 465 sq metres of retail/leisure floor space.

The Decision Letter contains the reasoning behind the Minister’s decision to refuse permission.
