Two decisions were made on the appeals against the non-determination of applications for planning permission and Listed Building Consent for works including a change of use to a house at 11 Castle Street.

The appeals were determined under Section 78 of the Town and Country Planning Act and Section 20 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990.

The appeals were dealt with by an Independent Planning Inspector. A hearing session was held on 21 November 2012.

The Minister for Housing and Regeneration has accepted the Inspector’s recommendation and:

  • Granted Listed Building Consent for works and development, subject to conditions
  • Granted, in part, planning permission for works and development, including a change of use to a house, subject to conditions
  • Refused, in part, planning permission for building a carport.

The Decision Letter contains the reasoning behind the Minister’s decision to approve and dismiss the appeals in part.

The Decision Letter, Annex 1, and the Inspector’s Report can be found below.
