This guidance sets out the requirements for the Code for Sustainable Homes, and the process by which a Code assessment is reached.

The latest and final version of the Code for Sustainable Homes Technical Guide was published by Communities and Local Government on 11 November 2010.

We have also published separate Supplementary Technical Guidance to ensure the Code for Sustainable Homes reflects our planning policy and guidance on development and flood risk. This is contained in Planning Policy Wales (PPW) and Technical Advice Note 15: Development and Flood Risk (TAN15).
A Welsh addendum to the Code was published on 29 October 2014 and should be read in conjunction with the November 2010 Code Technical Guidance. This addendum brings the Code into line with regulatory and national guidance changes.

In order to establish whether the previous or the new version of the Code applies for you, please see the code for sustainable homes: transitional arrangements (Wales) guidance document.
