Passported Benefits and Other Schemes

Blue Badge Scheme

The Scheme allows people who meet the eligibility criteria to park, when displaying their blue badge, where restrictions for other motorists may generally apply.

Concessionary Bus Travel

The scheme provides free travel on registered local bus services for people who are disabled or aged over 60 years. The scheme also provides free travel for companions of disabled people.

Bus Service Operators Grant

This grant helps transport services offset the cost to bus and community transport operators of the duty that they pay when purchasing fuel.

The Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2013

These regulations include amendments to the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) (Wales) Regulations 2000 to reflect the UK Government benefit reforms arising from the Welfare Reform Act 2012.

The regulations came into force on 8 April 2013 and can be found on the UK Government’s Legislation website (External Link).

Universal Credit (Consequential Amendments) Childcare, Housing and Transport (Wales) Regulations 2013

These regulations include amendments to the Bus Service Operators Grant (Wales) Regulations 2002 to reflect the UK Government benefit reforms arising from the Welfare Reform Act 2012.
