Local Government in Wales consists of county and county borough councils; police, national park, and fire and rescue authorities; and town and community councils.
In April 2013, Council Tax Reduction Schemes (CTRS) replaced council tax benefit in Wales and eligible applicants were automatically transferred onto the new scheme.

From 1 April 2013, the UK Government has changed the way welfare benefits are paid.

Your local authority is the first point of contact for changes to:

  • council tax support scheme
  • housing benefits  
  • disability living allowance
  • other benefits.
